We wanted to recreate a ‘Govinda’ number: Parineeti Chopra

After a self-imposed off time, Parineeti Chopra is now back in the thick of things with a smoking hot item number, Jaan-e-man Aah with Varun Dhawan. The actress, who has put in a lot of hard work into creating the perfect look for the number, says, “It’s a fun dance number for Dishoom. We wanted to recreate the kind of fun songs that Govinda did along with Karisma Kapoor or Raveena Tandon. They went all out and just danced their hearts out.”

While she isn’t exactly known for doing item numbers in Bollywood, Parineeti tells us how the special number happened. “So Varun and I met at an event and he said, ‘We are doing a song but I know you’ll never say yes to it’ and I shot back, ‘How do you know I won’t Ask me’ and then he asked and I said ‘Yes’. After that the two of us brainstormed with the director Rohit Dhawan, choreographer Ahmed Khan sir and Pritam and everything fell into place.”

She’s all praises for her dance partner. “Varun and I share a great vibe and we feed off of each other’s energy level.” Ask her if she’d like to work with him in a film and she says, “Of course. I’ve worked with all the other young actors from my generation. I have done an ad film with him in the first year of our careers. We will certainly do a film together very soon.” Would it be a Govinda-Raveena remake “That’s a great idea. You should ask David (Dhawan) uncle,” she says with a smile.
