If all goes well, then Tiger Shroff could very well be signing on the dotted line for a plum project — Karan Johar’s planned sequel for Student of the Year. We hear that Tiger was quite surprised when KJo called him in for a screen test — but aced it.

Our source says that Tiger’s meeting with Karan took place last month, and that the filmmaker has already instructed his writers to etch the role (in SOTY2) keeping Tiger in mind. The rest of the cast will be finalised in the coming months.

Karan, who is currently helming Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, has on several occasions expressed his wish to make a sequel to SOTY. He has said that he wants to spin off a franchise from the 2012 super-hit, which had marked the debut of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra.

As he waits for the SOTY2 offer to be finalised, Tiger has his hands full with Sabbir Khan’s Baaghi and Remo D’Souza’s A Flying Jatt. Baaghi is being shot in the outskirts of Mumbai and is almost done and is slated to release in April. The last schedule of A Flying Jatt is still to be shot, and will be taken up once Tiger wraps up his work on Sabbir’s film. Tiger Shroff and Karan Johar were both unavailable for comment, till the time of going to press.
