Work begins on Shah Rukh Khan’s G.One
We were the first to tell you last December that Shah Rukh Khan was planning a sequel to his 2011 superhero flick, Ra.One. During it’s release, the SRK-Kareena starrer created a lot of noise for its VFX. While the film got a lot of negative feedback, the opening it had was impressive and also set new benchmarks for VFX, which was done by SRK’s own company. In a chat with us, SRK had argued that in spite of the negativity, a lot had worked for the film. “It wasn’t bad business-wise. We did huge numbers — including the biggest weekend, if I’m not wrong. The release was also fantastic. I was a little taken aback by the negativity that ensued. It was strange, like how when KKR wasn’t doing well and people had started becoming a little negative. But I don’t think it was the audience’s doing. Rather, it was the industry that was trying to pull the film down.” SRK had even confirmed that he was one hundred per cent sure that he will be making a sequel.
Now we have learnt that his VFX team, headed by Harry Hingorani and Keitan Yadav, have already started work on it. A source tells us, “The team has started making sketches of SRK’s character, G One and are working on how to make it better. They are exploring many options and are trying out new things.” The team is apparently also making an initial 10-minute pilot footage to show it to SRK. A source reveals, “They will make a small footage to show how the character walks, talks and reacts. It will also focus on facial expressions and highlight his superpowers. Once it is ready, they will show it to Shah Rukh Khan to get his feedback on the same.” The project might still be in its initial stages, but work on it has started without a doubt. Now, it remains to be seen if Anubhav Sinha will be directing the second one as well.
