Hyundai Venue to disrupt car market
Pune: Hyundai is going to disrupt the car market with the launch of its compact SUV Hyundai Venue on May 21.
Already on the first day of opening pre-bookings on May 2, it had a record 2,000 confirmed buyers with a token down payment of Rs 21,000. Auto experts said the Hyundai Venue with its attractive design and latest technology would disrupt the car market in India and offer Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra and Tata Motors a stiff fight.
Right pricing will play a major role in this price conscious car market, they said. The Hyundai Venue's price is expected to range from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh pan India showroom.
The South Korean brand's first sub-four-metre SUV Hyundai Venue will rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Ford Ecosport, and Tata Nexon.
"We are overwhelmed with the enthusiastic response received from our SUV loving customers," Vikas Jain, National Sales Head at Hyundai Motor India, said.
Aiming for an attractive starting price, Hyundai will offer the Venue with the same 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine as seen on the Hyundai i20, combined with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Venue 1.2 petrol will only be available in base E and S trim levels and will be the entry point to the Venue range in terms of pricing.
The Venue diesel will be powered by the same 1.4-litre, four-cylinder unit seen in the Hyundai Verna sedan and Creta SUV that produces 90hp.
