Renault introduces Lodgy Stepway Edition
Remember the spacious MPV from Renault, the Lodgy? Its French manufacturer has introduced a Stepway edition – featuring cosmetic changes and available from the RxL to the RxZ trim – of the MPV. The new edition has a starting price tag of Rs 9.43 lakh that goes all the way up to Rs 11.26 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Stepway Edition introduces quite a few changes to both the exterior and the interior of the car. Outside, there are chrome inserts on the grille to give a jewelled effect, brushed aluminium finish skid plate and fog lamp bezels, ‘Stepway’ decals, black plastic cladding, dark metal finish on roof rails, arrowhead-styled tail lamps and 16-inch gunmetal alloy wheels. On the inside, the Stepway Edition introduces brown and beige leather upholstery, dual-tone finish on the dashboard with piano black centre console, touchscreen infotainment unit, steering-mounted infotainment controls, 12v charging ports for all three rows, flight trays for rear two rows, bottle holders and sunglasses holders. Buyers can option the Lodgy in 7 or 8-seat configurations. In the latter option, the second row seats can be folded down in 60:40 split configuration.
On the mechanical front though, the Lodgy Stepway Edition brings no changes to the table. It is powered by the same 1.5-litre diesel engine as was on the 'regular' Lodgy in two states of tune - one putting down 83PS power and the other making 103PS power. The lesser of the two is paired to a five-speed manual transmission unit while the more powerful one is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Other features of the Lodgy like cruise control, ABS and EBD, Brake Assist and dual front airbags are also available, though their availability depends on the variant you opt for.
