2019 Maserati Quattroporte launched in India; priced at Rs 1.74 crore

The GranLusso is all about luxury while the GranSport, as the name suggests, adds sportiness to the mix.

Italian car manufacturer Maserati has launched the 2019 Quattroporte in India at a price of Rs 1.74 crore (ex-showroom New Delhi). It will be available in two variants - GranLusso and GranSport. The GranLusso is all about luxury while the GranSport, as the name suggests, adds sportiness to the mix.

First 2019 Maserati Quattroporte to be delivered in New Delhi.

3.0-litre diesel fitted with AdBlue Technology to meet the updated BSVI emission norms.

Available with various customisation options, the Quattroporte now comes in two trims: GranLusso and GranSport.

The Italian carmaker has updated the Quattroporte with new colours, redesigned interiors and new alloy wheels. Despite these cosmetic updates, the prices for the 2019 Quattroporte remain unchanged. Maserati has also discontinued the base variant that was on sale previously and now the range starts from the GranLusso onwards.

The Quattroporte for India comes equipped with a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel that is mated with an 8-speed ZF gearbox which sends power to the rear wheels. Punching out 275PS and 600Nm of torque, the Quattroporte diesel can hit 0-100kmph in 6.4 seconds and onto a top speed of 252kmph. The diesel now comes equipped with AdBlue technology which uses Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) to check emissions. This will help the new Quattroporte meet the upcoming stringent BSVI emission norms in India. It also features the option to switch between auto and manual modes by shifting the redesigned gear lever from left to right.

For 2019 the Maserati Quattroporte is available with various customisation options. These include two new ‘Tri Coat’ colours for the exterior -- called Rosso Potente (Maserati’s nomenclature for the iconic Ferrari Red) and Blu Nobile -- apart from the 10 exterior colour options and two wheel sizes of 20 and 21 inches.

On the inside, you can now get the Quattroporte with full grain Pieno Fiore natural leather interior with 3 colours for upping the luxury quotient. The Quattroporte also has an option to be equipped with a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system that includes 15 speakers, mid-range drivers, and a rear woofer that is made from aramid fibre. Coupled up to it is a 1280 watt amplifier that promises to satisfy each and every audiophile. The 2019 variant also has an infotainment system with updated display graphics for better ease of use.

Amidst stiff competition from the Porsche Panamera and the Lexus LS 500h, do you think the updated Quattroporte has a chance to get more footfall to Maserati showrooms in India? If you had to pick one, which one would be parked in your garage? Let us know in the comments section below.
