Jaguar's most affordable F-Type launched
After launching the most bonkers F-Type, the SVR, in India in June, 2018, Jaguar has now launched the most tamest version of its only sports car offering. Armed with a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged engine, the 2.0-litre Coupe is priced at Rs 90.93 lakh, while the 2.0-litre Convertible retails for Rs 1.01 crore. It sits at the bottom of the F-Type range with the only other engine option being the bigger 5.0-litre V8.
Coupe
2.0-Litre: Rs 90.93 Lakh
2.0-Litre R-Dynamic: Rs 93.67 Lakh
5.0-Litre V8 AWD R: Rs 2.21 Crore
5.0-Litre V8 AWD SVR: Rs 2.65 Crore
Convertible
2.0-Litre: Rs 1.01 Crore
2.0-Litre R-Dynamic: Rs 1.04 Crore
5.0-Litre V8 AWD R: Rs 2.36 Crore
5.0-Litre V8 AWD SVR: Rs 2.80 Crore
The 2.0-litre turbocharged engine has been borrowed from other Jaguar cars like the XE and the XF. But in the F-Type it makes 300PS of max power at 5,500rpm and 400Nm of peak torque between 1,500 - 4,500rpm. Paired to an 8-speed automatic the car can do 0-100kmph in 5.7seconds and a top speed of 250kmph. The bigger 5.0-litre supercharged SVR makes 575PS of peak power and 700Nm of peak torque. Paired to an 8-speed automatic this car does 0-100 kmph in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 322kmph.
Being a Jaguar, there are a lot of optional features available on the car, like a full panoramic sunroof on the coupe, LED headlights and configurable ambient lighting. As standard, you get a 10-inch touchscreen, 380-watt, 8-speaker, 2-subwoofer system. Optionally, you can opt for a 770-watt, 10-speaker, 2-subwoofer Meridian sound system. The Jaguar F-Type is known for making a notorious sound with the engine and exhaust, which we hope gets carried onto the 2.0-litre as well, fingers crossed.
If you've loved the F-Type for the way it looks and wanted it to be a tame kitty to drive daily, look no further. The price puts it squarely on par with other sportscars such as the Audi TT and the Porsche 718.
