Toyota Etios Cross gets a new X' Edition
Toyota India has launched a new edition of its Etios Cross, the X-Edition at Rs 6.80 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It commands a premium of Rs 30,000 over the model it’s based on – ‘G’ variant in petrol and ‘VD’ trim in diesel. The changes are mostly aesthetic on both inside and out and is offered in only Quartz Brown colour.
The front of the car gets a new black grille with a black housing for the fog lamps in the bumper. The Etios Cross X Edition gets new body-coloured claddings on the doors and wheel arches instead of the black cladding seen on the standard variant and gives the car a premium look. Other feature include blacked-out roof rails, body-coloured door handles and an X-edition badge on the C-pillar. The additions enhances the overall appeal of the crossover.
On the inside, the instrument panel gets a carbon-fibre finish and new seat fabric. The standard 2-din music system has been replaced by a 6.8-inch touchscreen system with a reverse parking camera. On the safety front, the special edition shares all the features that are being offered on the standard variant which include dual airbags, ABS, EBD, engine immobilizer, ISOFIX and front seatbelts with pretensioners and force limiters.
The new X edition is offered with a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.4-litre diesel engine options that produce 80PS/104Nm and 68PS/170Nm, respectively. Both engines are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox only. The ARAI tested figures are 17.71kmpl and 23.59kmpl for petrol and diesel, respectively. The Etios Cross X edition will be taking on the likes of the Fiat Avventura, Hyundai i20 Active,and the Honda WR-V.
