LIC to have 2 new MDs, interviews soon
New Delhi: The government is likely to fill the vacancies at the top deck in Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India. The Department of Financial Services (DFS) under the Ministry of Finance (MoF) will soon begin interviews to select two Managing Directors, out of five probable candidates, for the country’s largest public sector life insurer.
According to a top ministry source, the probable candidates have been short-listed for the positions and the interviews would be held shortly.
“There are as many as five candidates who have been selected by the board for the interview. The candidates who are in the fray include serving Executive Directors of LIC Raj Kumar (Head, International Operations), Mukesh Gupta (Head, Personnel), KS Naganyal (Head, P&GS), Sushil Kumar (Head Central Zone, Bhopal), Vikas Rao (Head, Western Zone, Mumbai),” the source said, adding that the posts have fallen vacant on the retirement of B Venugopal and Hemant Bhargava.
The two key positions, which mostly focus on important portfolios of the insurer, have become vacant on the retirement of MDs Venugopal, on May 31, and Bhargava, on July 31 this year.
The interview will be conducted by the Banks Board Bureau (BBB) for the second time. Earlier this year, BBB had conducted the interview, for the first time, for the position of CMD.
