AirAsia launches direct flights between Tiruchi and Bangkok
Chennai: AirAsia on Wednesday announced the launch of direct flights between Tiruchirapalli and Bangkok at starting fares of Rs 3,399 for a one-way journey.
The new route to be effective from September 29, 2018 along with the Jaipur-Bangkok route, would be operated four times a week, a press release said.
Booking of tickets commenced from July 31 and would go on till August 13, 2017 for travel between September 29, 2017 and August 28, 2018.
The flights would be operated on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
"AirAsia plans to continually penetrate the Indian market in the latter half of 2017 as it is a major market with great growth potential, especially as Bangkok and Thai cities have proven popular destinations for Indians", Thai AirAsia, Commercial Director, Santisuk Klongchaiya said.
The direct Tiruchirapalli-Bangkok flight offers a multitude of trade, investment and travel opportunities as Tiruchirapalli is not only home for many interesting tourist attractions, but also an exotic destination that is rich in tradition, culture and history, he said.
Currently, AirAsia offers direct flights to Thailand from Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Kochi.
