RIL commissions crystalisation train of PX complex in Jamnagar
Mumbai: Reliance Industries today said it has commissioned a crystalisation train of the Para-xylene (PX) complex at Jamnagar, which makes it the world's second largest producer of the chemical feedstock in the world.
"This plant is built with state-of-the-art crystallisation technology from BP, which is highly energy efficient. With the commissioning of this plant, RIL's PX capacity has more than doubled making it the world's second largest producer of PX with about 11 per cent of global production," the company said in a statement.
The RIL had commissioned second phase of PX comprising of second crystallisation train, trans-alkylation and aromatic extraction units at Jamnagar in April, it said. Train 3, which was at an advanced stage of commissioning has now been successfully started, it added.
