Vahdam Teas comes to duty free outlets in India
Kolkata: Call it homeward bound or something else. Vahdam Teas, the fledgling online tea brand, funded by Fireside Ventures, Mumbai Angels, Singapore Angel Network and a few undisclosed investors, has now forayed into Indian retail space, albeit through Duty Free outlets. The company has rolled out an exclusive range of premium unblended single-estate teas and gourmet in-house blends for duty free outlets at Indira Gandhi International airport, Delhi, Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad, Chennai International Airport, and the Dabolim International Airport, Goa. Interestingly, Vahdam Teas was an Oprah's Favorite Things last year, and the Oprah Chai Tea Trio has also been exclusively launched at the Duty-Free Outlets in India. The brand will now look at India's modern retail and general trade outlets aggressively in different parts of the country, top company officials said.
Significantly, India's domestic and International traffic grew at 16.52 per cent year on year to reach 308.75 million in FY18, according to IBEF (India Brand Equity Foundation). The percentages are predicted to grow substantially this year as well. And Vahdam Teas is keen on tapping this large and fast growing market. It has therefore launched an impressive array of exclusive duty-free products including the Gold Collection and the Masala Chai collection with the freshest tea leaves directly from the farms for tea lovers all over the globe.
