Data is the new oil', says Mukesh Ambani
New Delhi: Calling data as the new oil, RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani said on Wednesday that 4G coverage in India will become larger than the 2G in next 12 months.
“I believe that in the next 10 years, India will grow from a $2.5 trillion economy to a $7 trillion economy and rank among the top three economies in the world. And to make this happen, the telecom and IT industry has to play a foundational role in creating the digital infrastructure,” Mr Ambani said.
He said that India missed out on the first three global industrial revolutions —mechanisation, mass production and automation. “The fourth industrial revolution, fuelled by connectivity, data and AI has begun. India now has the opportunity to lead the fourth industrial revolution, which is set to usher in more dramatic transformations globally than the three previous revolutions,” he said.
