Govt extends date for filing GST returns, tax payment by 5 days

The last date for filing GST returns has been changed to August 25 from August 20.

 Earlier, the government had fixed August 20 as the last date for filing GSTR-3B forms for July.

Mumbai: The GST Council has given a relaxation five more days for filing returns. The last date has been changed to August 25 from August 20.

The extension will only be for those claiming a transitional Input Tax Credit.

The GSTN is still under works and the committee is trying to prepare the required forms as soon as possible.
