Govt launches video on filing 'simple and easy' GST returns
Mumbai: Amidst small traders and businessmen increasingly complaining about the complexity involved under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime, the government released a two-minute video depicting the simplicity and ease with which tax returns can be filed.
With less than two days left for the rollout, the government, from its Twitter handle @askGST_GoI posted the video on the website saying, “Return filing under #GST is simple and easy”.

The video highlights the different businesses that are exempt from GST and the ones that will need to be GST compliant. It further goes on to explain the ‘GSTR’ or GST return filing process with the help of animation.
The video which has received more than 170 retweets and more than 200 likes, tries to portray how the process of GST is #AsaanHainAchhaHain – meaning it is simple and therefore, good.
GST will be launched at the stroke of midnight at the Central Hall of Parliament on June 30. It is being touted as the biggest tax reform since Independence and aims to make the function as a single market, under a single tax.
