Port Trust to examine request to treat MAFI trailers on par with transshipment'
At present, such cargo is entitled to seven free days without any wharfage for all ship agents.
Mumbai: A ship agents association today claimed that Mumbai Port Trust has agreed to examine ship agent fraternity's request that MAFI trailers be treated on par with transshipment, and charges be levied with additional free days as per customs classification.
At present, such cargo is entitled to seven free days without any wharfage for all ship agents. However, Mumbai Port is providing for only three free days without charges, and also levies wharfage.
"The requests will be examined and taken up appropriately at board level, if necessary," Mumbai Port Trust Traffic Manager A K Bose was quoted in a statement issued by Mumbai and Nhava-Sheva Ship-Agents Association.
