3 traffic cops arrested for stripping and abusing man
Three Delhi traffic police personnel have been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing and stripping a property dealer in North Delhi’s Sabzi Mandi area on April 16 night.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the trio first allegedly kidnapped him and then sexually assaulted him after co-nfining him. Two of them have been sent to Tihar jail after being produced before the Delhi court, while another was released on bail. According to the police, the three cops have been identified as assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Balwan Singh, constables Raju Kumar and Bharat.
“The two constable were sent to judicial custody and Balwan was later released on bail,” said a senior police officer.
The police said that the incident occurred on April 16 night when the victim was caught by traffic police personnel for violating the traffic norms near Phulbangash area in North Delhi. “The victim got into an argument with the cops and later broke their challan machine. The cops got annoyed and they started thrashing him. They later took him to traffic police station,” the officer added.
Sources said that the traffic police personnel allegedly confined him and then forcefully stripped him and sexually assaulted him.
