Bhojpuri movies for Chhat travellers at railway stations
In an attempt to entertain thousands of passengers travelling during the festive season for Chhat Puja celebrations, the railway authorities have put up LED screens at New Delhi and Anand Vihar railway stations, showing Bhojpuri films and songs in waiting areas. Also to ensure that the passengers don’t overcrowd the platforms by arriving hours before their trains depart, additional waiting areas with tent covers have been put in place at New Delhi and Anand Vihar railway stations. “While working out on the arrangements to ensure hassle-free and convenient journey for the enhanced number of passengers during the upcoming Chhat Puja, the railway authorities have also decided to take care of entertainment of passengers by showing them Bhojpuri films and songs,” a senior railway official said.
The official said that LED screens have been placed at New Delhi Railway Station for information and entertainment of passengers waiting to catch trains to Bihar. “To keep passengers entertained, apart from providing information on trains’ schedule, Bhojpuri songs and movies are being shown on LED screen for the passengers in waiting,” he added.
The railways transports almost additional five lakh passengers during five days period ahead of Chhat Puja. According to a senior railway official, for efficient crowd management a “holding area” has been prepared at Ajmeri Gate side of New Delhi Railway Station where shamianas have been erected to create extended waiting area for the convenience of passengers.
