To avert any untoward incident in Bisada, heavy police force has been deplo-yed in the village on Wed-nesday. Ravin Sisodai (22), an accused in the Dadri lynching case, was reported dead on Tuesday at LNJP Hospital in Delhi. Doctors said his death was due to kidney failure and respiratory organs failure.

Villagers and family members of the deceased staged a protest demanding Rs 1 crore compensation to family and a government job for his wife.

Tension seemed to be simmering in the village as a number of residents gathered outside the residence of the deceased. The residents shouted slogans and burnt effigies of CM Akhilesh Yadav and Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, accusing the police for conducting a biased probe and foulplay in the death of Ravin. “We have deployed a company of provincial armed constabulary (PAC) — 200 constables, 30 sub-inspectors, 15 station house officers and five circle officers — at Bisada for precautionary measures,” said Abhishek Yadav, SP (rural), Gautam Budh Nagar.

Ravin died after a week of ailment at Lok Nayak Jay Prakash Narayan Hospital in Delhi on Tuesday evening. He was transferred from Noida district hospital.

“We are demanding a compensation of Rs 1 crore and a government job for the family of Ravin. Also, an FIR should be lodged against the jailer as we suspect he had beaten up Ravin,” said Hariom Rana, husband of the village pradhan, Kaushalya Devi.

The family of the deceased said that they will not perform his last rites till their demands are met. They also demanded arrest of slain Ikhlaq’s brother, Jaan Mohammad, for cow slaughter.

Ravin and 17 other youth were arrested last year for allegedly lynching local resident Mohammad Ikhlaq.
