Ex-councillor arrested for destroying murder proof
The city police arrested former councillor Kishan Pehelwan and two others on Sunday for allegedly destroying evidence in connection with the murder of two private PSOs during a party at his farmhouse in southwest Delhi’s Najafgarh area.
The other two arrested men, both property dealers, were identified as Pramod and Yogesh. They allegedly tried to clean the scene of crime after the incident in order to destroy important evidence and leads in the case, a senior officer said.
The incident took place on Friday night, following which the police arrested Joginder, private security officer (PSO) of a realtor and a native of Bahadurgarh district in Haryana. Joginder allegedly shot dead Ashok Kumar and Fauji, who were ex-servicemen, working as private security officers of the property dealers and financiers associated with gangster-turned-politician Krishan Pehalwan. They were shot dead after a heated argument over caste and reservation during the party.
The police said that Pehelwan himself was not present at the party and rushed to the spot after being informed about the incident. He allegedly along with other associates present at the party tried to clean the crime scene that destroyed significant evidence.an succumbed to his injuries in a few hours.
