Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra promote at IGI, delay flight

Bollywood actors Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra were seen promoting their upcoming movie at the IGI Airport in Delhi on Monday without informing the airport authorities.

Bollywood actors Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra were seen promoting their upcoming movie at the IGI Airport in Delhi on Monday without informing the airport authorities. The CISF, which manages the airport security, was unaware about their plans of promoting the upcoming film Baar Baar Dekho.

The airline officials asked the actors to board their flight. Later, it emerged that the actors declined to board the flight resulting in a takeoff delay of around 50 minutes. Sources said the incident occurred late Monday night after both the actors reached the airport and got their boarding passes to fly to Mumbai in Air India flight number AI-317.

“They did not inform us about any such activity. Post the security check, the duo was seen mingling with fans in the duty-free area of the airport to promote their upcoming film. Instead of taking the flight, they delayed their boarding. It seems that it was pa-rt of their promotion strategy,” a CISF official said.

“The actors were asked to board the flight scheduled for 9.40 pm, but they kept delaying the flight. And at about 10.45 pm, they den-ied boarding the flight,” said an Air India official, who didn’t wish to be named.

The CISF has taken the matter seriously and said it will write to the “concerned persons” about this incident. “They should have informed us earlier if they wish to promote their film here. Had anyone misbehaved with them, the blame would have come upon us,” said the CISF official. Vishal Ramchand-ani of Excel Entertainm-ent, the agency promoting the film, said, “We had a marketing tie with duty-free store at the Delhi International airport which was facilitated by Bottomline Media. As a part of our agreement, the actors were required to click a few pictures against the branded backdrop... We only followed instruction and did what was told to us by the concerned authorities.”
