The Delhi police Saturday submitted before a city court the statement of a teenage girl, who was allegedly physically assaulted by her employer, in which the victim has claimed that he was subjected to extreme “torture” and even once “forced to drink urine.” In a recorded statement before a magistrate on Friday evening, the victim is believed to have testified that she was once forced to drink urine, and continuously be beaten with toilet brooms and hot pans. Alleging that she was not even given proper food, the girl has also claimed that she was not allowed to use bathroom regularly, and would be forcefully confined to remain in a half-naked state. According to court sources, the girl also recorded a separate statement before a sub-divisional magistrate, which reportedly indicates that the accused, Vandhana Dhir, violated labour laws. The girl has alleged that she was made to work in the house for from 6 am to 10 pm, and the agreed salary of '4,000 per month was never paid to her. It also said that Dhir is making contradictory claims about the cause the deep cut on the victim’s head, stating that she had told a doctor at a private clinic that had treated the girl’s head injury in July, that she had been “assaulted by her brother.” Metropolitan magistrate Gomati Manocha, while hearing the arguments on the bail plea of Dhir, directed the police to probe the conditions of other girls, who was employed through the placement agency that had provided a maid to the accused. Dhir’s counsel Rudra Kahlon sought his client’s bail on the grounds that the police probe is almost complete.
