A city court on Monday granted interim bail to four of the six accused persons, arrested in connection with the death of NRI student Anmol Sarna, till October 22. Additional sessions judge Rajender Kumar Shastri granted interim bail of 15-days to Anmol’s friends, accused Madhav Bhandari, Pranil Shah, Shivank Gambhir and Ritham Girhotra, all in their 20’s. Anmol’s family members, who were also present in the court at the time of the order, however, expressed their anger against the decision. They indulged in verbal duel with the relatives of the accused and said they will approach higher court for cancellation of the bail. The court, while granting bail to the four, asked them to furnish bond of '1 lakh each with the surety of like amount. It also directed the four to surrender their passport and also asked them not to leave the national capital “without prior intimation to the court concerned”. The four had approached the sessions court seeking bail after a magisterial court had earlier dismissed their plea, saying the allegations against them are “very serious” in nature. The court directed the four not to influence any of the witnesses in the case or tamper with the evidence. The court granted relief on the arguments made by senior advocate K.T.S. Tulsi, who submitted before the court that all of them were friends and there was no motive behind Anmol’s murder. Two security guards — Surender Bali (40) and Naresh Mishra (60) — who thrashed Anmol at an apartment in South Delhi’s Kalkaji area, are in judicial custody till October 14 in connection with the case. According to police, 24-year-old Anmol was murdered following a scuffle.
