Woman beats abductors, snatches their gun
In a great show of bravery, a 24-year-old woman allegedly snatched the gun of her abductors and beat them up in east Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar area, the police said on Sunday.
According to a senior police official, the woman, who has not been identified to protect her identity, was returning home after buying medicines when two men attempted to abduct her earlier this week. The woman stays with her husband in New Ashok Nagar and works in a private firm.
The two men, identified as Noida resident Rajkumar and Ghaziabad-based Rahul, were arrested. Both the accused are from well to do families, said the police.
“At 9 pm when the woman was going towards home after buying medicines, the two men parked their car in front of her. Rahul got out and pulled the woman by her hand. When the woman screamed and protested, he took out his gun and threatened the woman,” said the police.
Right at that moment, the brave women took Rahul’s hand and banged it on the ground. She then snatched his gun and pulled his hair to pull him down. On realising that their kidnap victim was attacking his friend and accomplice, Rajkumar got out of the car to save his friend. How-ever, the woman pointed the gun at him and warned him “not to move even an inch,” the police said, adding, “The woman then allegedly landed few kicks on Rahul’s stomach while started shouting for help.”
Local people in huge numbers immediately gathered at the spot, caught the two accused and started beating them up. They took the two men to the nearby police station where the police arrested them and booked them under relevant sections of IPC. sWhen the police interrogated them, the two accused said that on seeing the woman walking alone at that time of the night, they had planned to abduct her. “The accused waited till the woman reached a secluded spot and drove up to her to commit the crime,” the police added.
