If you’re looking for the top-five wines in India, look no further than the Soma Brut Cuvée 2014, Casablanca Rosé Spumante 2015, Nine Hills Chenin Blanc 2015, Sula Riesling 2015 and Myra Cabernet Sauvignon 2014. These wines were named among the winners in the “gold” category at the recently held Indian Wine Consumer’s Choice Awards. This is the fourth edition of the awards for the wine industry.

About 136 wines from 21 labels were in contention this year, and prizes were given out in three categories — gold, silver and bronze. Colour, aroma and palate were the three parameters on which each of the wines was judged, and sparkling, reds, whites and dessert wines were judged separately.

The Charosa Pleasures Cabernet Shiraz NV, Oakwood Reisha Grand Cru Reserve 2013 and Sula Sauvignon Blanc 2015 were some of the other wines named in the “gold” list, while the “silver” category saw names like the Big Banyan Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Vallonné Rosé 2014 and the Good Earth Basso 2014. Among the “bronze” winners were Myra Chenin Blanc 2014 and the Reveilo Late Harvest Chenin Blanc 2013.
