I am not dating Sanjana or anyone else: Parineeti Chopra
Mumbai: It wouldn't be wrong to say that Parineeti Chopra vanished from Bollywood after the 2014-release 'Kill Dil.'
After a three-year lull in her professional career, Parineeti Chopra is back with a bang with two back-to-back releases this year, ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’ and ‘Golmaal Again.’
While her immense physical transformation and her cameo in ‘Dishoom’ made headlines too, only these two full-fledged releases will make up for her absence from films since 2014.
Her love life, which has always been in the news, has also become much-discussed in recent times. While her name has often been linked to Maneesh Sharma, who launched her in ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’, Arjun Kapoor, who she worked in Ishaqzaade’ and Uday Chopra, her name has been linked to not one, but three people in recent times.
One is a mystery man she was reportedly spotted hand-in-hand with in Dubai, other is Charit Desai, an assistant director with Dharma Productions and the third is her best friend and stylist Sanjana Batra.
The actress opened up on the link-up rumours in an interview with Hindustan Times, where she said, “While it’s a little funny because a month or two back, my best friend, Sanjana and I had gone to Dubai and when I came back, they linked me with her. There was an article about me and Sanjana saying, ‘Are they more than friends?’ Now, a month or so later, this (a new rumour) has come out. I am used to such rumours. It’s fine. I will, as always, never talk about my personal life. I will let it be.”
She adds, “Yes, there have been many names (laughs) such as Sanjana, Maneesh Sharma and more. So, everyone is there in my life. It’s okay; I will only talk about my work and that’s how it will remain.”
So is she dating someone or not? “I am single. I am not dating Sanjana or anyone else.”
She asserts, “You guys are only hearing about it while I have been experiencing it. Whether there’s someone in my personal life or not, I have decided that I won’t ever talk about it because they write absolute s***t, and they talk about people who aren’t used to being in the news. Earlier, it used to be Uday (Chopra; actor), then Maneesh and now Sanjana. So, I have been linked with boys as well as girls now. And they are all non-actors. It’s not fair. I have decided that just because I am friends with people, their lives shouldn’t be affected. So, I will not say anything. People don’t understand that it affects our personal lives and also our friendships with people. But I don’t want to get angry. It’s okay, you guys do your job and I will do mine (laughs).”
Link-up rumours have become a part and parcel of the film industry, and irrespective of whether they are true or false, Parineeti has definitely become an expert at taking them on.
