Twitterati slam 'De De Pyaar De' makers for casting #MeToo accused Alok Nath
Mumbai: Today on the occasion of Ajay Devgn's 50th birthday, the actor gave a special birthday gift to his fans by releasing De De Pyaar De trailer. Also starring Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles, De De Pyaar De trailer has been getting a solid response on the internet. However, many social media users are not happy with the makers for casting Alok Nath in the film.
Actor Alok Nath, who was accused of sexual harassment in #MeToo movement is a part of De De Pyaar De. Hence, the official Twitter handle of MeToo India shows disappointment over Alok Nath's casting in the film. #MeTooIndia wrote, "While women continue to be disbelieved, ridiculed and shoved back into silence, men accused of sexual violence continue to find work. @ajaydevgn @itsBhushanKumar I hope you know Alok Nath has been accused of rape and an FIR filed. Disgusting that he’s part of De De Pyar De."

They further added, "When it came to casting someone for that role, what made it absolutely necessary to pick a man accused of violence and harassment by multiple women? Is it a message that says you don’t care? What will it take for artists to stand up in support of women who call out predators?"

Since after these tweets, Twitterati started slamming Ajay Devgn, Bhushan Kumar and the makers of De De Pyaar De for casting #MeToo accused in the film.

This is the problem. Celebrity status in india supersedes criminality. Men in positions to hire & fire need to take responsibility & support what is right. Not what will make them money at the box office. This is effectively blood money if those woman have been horribly abused.

Thanks for the reminder. I am really disappointed that the makers and casts especially Mr. Ajay Devgan and Miss Tabu chose to work with that old geezer despite knowing everything.

Its not #aloknath only , even though a man is accused of #metoo they continue to find work & promotion in different industries including multinational conglomerates in India

Several bald and sanskari looking men NOT YET accused of rape who could have been cast in @ajaydevgn @itsBhushanKumar movie instead of Alok Nath.

But the pro-rape/ anti-women bias shows now.
How come the #BollywoodFraternity is not supporting the #victims of sexual harassment n banning these people...If u are giving work to men accused of #sexualviolence, abuse that means u are supporting them n don't believe the victims. Action speaks louder than words #metoo
