Shilpa Shetty admires Tiger Shroff's dancing style

Known for her smooth moves on the dance floor, Shilpa talks about all things dance.

Shilpa Shetty’s name can be considered to be synonymous with dance. Peppy, sexy numbers, the actress has them all under her belt. Strutting down a beach in Chura Ke Dil Mera or rocking the retro look with Sanjay Dutt in Aila Re Ladki Badi Mast Tu, the actress draws the eye in all her dance numbers.

Now, she’s playing judge for Super Dancer Chapter 2, yet again.

The actress confesses that she finds it difficult to reject any child dancer who comes to audition for the show. “We try to guide a kid and improve on their faults. So, this year, many of the contestants who had not been selected last time have come back. It’s heart-warming to find them come back and show off their improved skills as dancers,” she smiles.

All praises for the talented kids Shilpa says, “The children of today are not just talented but are also hardworking and they stand out due to all the rigorous training. Many of them are living our their parents’ dreams. Kids nowadays also have much more confidence. Even those who auditioned last time keep coming back, and it’s great to see that resilience,” she adds.

While it is good to have a firm base in any one form of dance, it’s always good to also try out a few different genres, opines Shilpa. “We love it when dancers trained in one genre of dance tries to experiment with other genres, pushing their boundaries a bit. Learning varied dance forms helps the children to grow as dancers and we encourage all the participants to try and pick up some new dance forms,” she explains.

Quite the exponent of Bollywood dancing herself, Shilpa names Tiger Shroff as be one of the best dancers in the industry today. “Tiger, according to me, is one of the best male dancers. He has a lot of talent and has his own unique style,” she gushes.

What about a female dancer, we ask. “There’s Shraddha Kapoor, who we saw holding her own in a film about dance. Jacqueline Fernandez also has a lot of potential and she has swag which I like,” Shilpa answers.

While it may be easy for the actress to choose the best of B-town dancers today, she’s spoilt for choice when it comes to the dancers of the retro era. “They are all iconic dancers. They have set a style and an analogy. Sometimes, we compare dancers and say things like ‘yeh Helen jaisi lagti hai…kya style hai’. They’re household names,” she says.

“Choosing the right talent on a dancing platform and churning out new and amazing talent is something that I’m very proud of as a judge of this dance reality show,” she concludes.
