Imtiaz's banner to produce his own scripts
They say, when no one believes in you, you must believe in yourself, and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali is doing just that. He is betting on himself and having his own production house produce films written by him.
Though the last two films written by Ali – When Harry Met Sejal and Laila Majnu – haven’t managed to do wonders at the box office, it looks like he’s putting it down to the ups and downs of a career in Bollywood. We hear that he’s keen on having other scripts of his produced under his own banner.
“I have started a production house, and I have developed a lot of stories that will be turned into films. What will be made first, and what will be made later still needs to be worked out,” Imtiaz says.
The filmmaker’s last big hit was the 2012 film Cocktail, which was followed by the average-grossing Highway two years later. And though we’ve been hearing rumours about a collaboration with Shahid Kapoor for a while now, there seem to be no new developments with regard to the Jab We Met duo. Meanwhile, Imitiaz is focussed on churning out new stories.
