When the recent controversy over the casting of a Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in Karan Johar's 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' had emerged, reports of Ali Zafar's role in 'Dear Zindagi' being edited had also surfaced.

That was also perhaps one of the reasons why Ali didn’t feature in the teasers or songs of the film before its release, though other actors like Kunal Kapoor and Angad Bedi did make an appearance.

However, contrary to reports, Ali’s role was intact and his performance as a musician has been appreciated from all quarters. He has not just acted but even crooned to the songs ‘Tu Hi Hai’ and ‘Tareefon Se’ and even his singing has received the thumbs up from fans and critics.

The Shah Rukh Khan-Alia Bhatt starrer has completed a week at the box office and has already been declared as a success and Ali has been flooded with congratulatory messages from fans and also celebrities from the industry. Ali’s fans have been going gaga over him on Facebook and Twitter over his baritone and his mannerisms in the film.

Ali repaid the appreciation by performing to the songs for the fans on the day of release on Facebook.

Fans would definitely be hoping he can act in more films in Bollywood.
