Big budget films will wait for theatres, Bhagyashree says
Bhagyashree finds that the situation is dire in both Bollywood and Tollywood. Though the lockdown is being eased and certain businesses are being given the green light to resume operations, she opines that the film industry still hangs in limbo in spite of facing major losses due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“I feel the most affected industry is the film industry. We all know that people flock to the theatres in big numbers to watch a film but this is one place which will open last. We can hope for the best though,” she smiles.
The Maine Pyar Kiya actress, who has a few films like Thalaivi and Jaan in the works, notes that big-budget films are facing the most problems at the moment. “Big films made with huge budgets, that were in their post-production stages or are only halfway completed are the ones in a difficult position.
While many completed films are readily going for OTT platform releases, it is a great loss to all the filmmakers. Also, those who have been associated and worked in films for theatrical release will obviously want to see their films in theatres only, but I feel films with huge budgets will willingly wait for theatrical release as they have pumped in a lot of money,” she says.
Meanwhile, Bhagyashree has been spending her time involved with charities and helping those in need. However, when asked about the same, she remains humble and chooses not to make a big deal of it. “I don’t like speaking about the charity work that I do as it lessens one’s value. I also do not want any publicity for it. I do support a lot people involved in protecting the nation, especially taking care of the people’s safety. We are enjoying all the safety because of the people who safeguard our country and countrymen. I do contribute to then, it’s my way of applauding them,” she shares.
