Taapsee Pannu thanks Anurag Kashyap for being a feminist
Taapsee Pannu is basking in the success of her latest release, Manmarziyaan, in which she plays a strong female protagonist. The actress says that she’s grateful that such scripts are being written these days.
“When I heard the script, I never thought that the film would end up being a revolution of sorts for female characters. Rummi is able to make her own decisions and do what makes her happy in a world where she’s constantly under pressure to do things for everyone but herself,” she says.
Taapsee also believes that Anurag is the “biggest feminist there is” as he’s always written strong female characters into his scripts. Be it Gangs of Wasseypur or Dev D — his female leads are not just props. “Thanks to the man who is the biggest feminist I know — Anurag Kashyap!” Taapsee adds.
Manmarziyaan directed by Anurag Kashyap features Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Abhishek Bachchan.
