Action season's here
In the coming months, get ready for a cloudburst of action films. While in Bollywood, Salman Khan is all set to encore his Dabangg franchise in December, with some serious kicks and chops choreographed by the film’s director Prabhudheva, Tamil superstar Vishal Krishna’s Action is all set to unleash a feast of fury.
The South film, shot on location in Turkey and Azerbaijan, has some of the most heart-in-the-mouth action scenes ever seen in Indian cinema. “I was injured a number of times doing the action scenes in Action. I hope the effort has been worth it,” Vishal says.
Additionally, Sooraj Pancholi in his post-debut film Satellite Shankar plays a soldier on a fist-friendly and societal-cleansing spree. “We’ve worked really hard on the stunts, because that’s what is expected from a good action film,” the actor says.
Meanwhile, Neil Nitin Mukesh, who is making a comeback with an intriguing suspense thriller Bypass Road on November 8, says the action sequences in his film are arresting in their innovation. “These days you can’t do substandard stunts. Everyone watches Marvel superhero films; Indian audiences want action of that calibre,” says the actor.
Wait, there’s more. On November 29, Vidyut Jamwal returns with the third film in the Commando series. Producer Vipul Shah promises an adrenaline-pumping dose of action. “Vidyut and action go hand-in-hand. We hope to do something different and
exciting in Commando 3,” he assures.
It looks like the season of flying fists and blazing guns is upon us.
