Nawazuddin Siddiqui slashes fees for good films

Nawaz's co-star from Badlapur, Varun Dhawan too recently revealed that took a remuneration cut for Shoojit Sircar's film October.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is rather choosy about his films. On one hand, he agrees to do films where he has to slash his fees, just because he likes the script. And on the other hand, he refuses the big budget movies where he has to play second fiddle to other actor.

Nawaz, who has now picked up the role of Balasaheb Thackeray in the upcoming biopic on the late right wing leader from Maharashtra, has been having a series of meetings for the role. The actor has also cut his price substantially in the Sanjay Raut penned and produced film. “But he has slashed his fees a lot more for the Manto biopic. Even for Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, which he promoted very aggressively, he hardly charged a fraction of his fees,” says a trade source.

But then the actor who was seen with Salman Khan in Kick and Bajrangi Bhaijaan and with Shah Rukh Khan in Raees has been opting out of many films with superstars, because he has not found the role great enough. For instance, Nawaz opted out of role in Salman’s Tiger Zinda Hai, though he finally picked up a role in Anil Sharma’s Genius.

Nawaz’s co-star from Badlapur, Varun Dhawan too recently revealed that took a remuneration cut for Shoojit Sircar’s film October, to make the film a commercially viable project.
