Diana Penty, who began her Bollywood career with Homi Adajania’s Cocktail, has been rather choosy with her scripts over the years. The actress says that she is open to exploring different genres, but the thing that she’s looking for is a good story.

“It’s always about the story. I genuinely feel that the story is the heart and soul of a film. If you get that right, you are sorted. The audience wants good content, and it’s not easy to fool them anymore,” Diana says, adding, “If you notice, films with strong stories are doing well these days —whether they are comedies, romantic dramas, or something else.”

The actress, who has been seen in two films this year —Parmanu with John Abraham and Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi, says that she’s still a long way from considering herself a star. “I am an actor, not a star. Once you reach a certain level, you become a star, and I haven’t reached there yet. I’m still far away,” she says.
