Rajkummar begins work on MIC
Actor Rajkummar Rao is a busy man. He’s already had four releases this year, and there’s another one on the way. Meanwhile, he has also started work on his next project - Made In China, the story of a struggling Gujarati businessman’s bizarre journey to becoming a successful entrepreneur.
Talking about the film, the actor says, “It is a story of aspirations. It is an unusual tale of a Gujarati businessman who is an underdog. We all have dreams, and Raghu’s dream is to make it big. The film is all about how he gets there. It’s a quirky, relatable story.”
Made In China also stars Boman Irani and Mouni Roy, and it’s slated for release on Independence Day next year. Rajkummar reveals that taking the project up was a completely impulsive decision.
“I always look at what a script offers me before taking a call now. There have been times when I have done projects I didn’t want to do – either out of friendship or respect – but that hasn’t worked in my favour. But I am wiser now. I no longer do things that I don’t believe in,” he adds.
Meanwhile, the actor’s last release, Stree, has made it into the Rs 100 crore club, and the actor couldn’t be happier. “I am receiving a lot of love from the audience and the fraternity. I am glad that Stree worked, it was a unique film.”
