The actors were supposed to be at constant loggerheads in Shoojit Sircar’s Gulabo Sitabo, which wasn’t easy for Ayushmann.
In the forthcoming Shoojit Sircar directed rom-com Gulabo Sitabo, Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana play two individuals who are constantly at loggerheads.
It wasn’t easy for Ayushmann to come to terms with his rather belligerent beginning with Big B, and the veteran actor had to go out of his way to make the softspoken Ayushmann comfortable with his aggressive attitude.
According to a source close to the project, “This wasn’t the way Ayushmann wanted to start his onscreen association with Bachchan. In Gulabo Sitabo, Ayushmann has to say some really rude things to Bachchan, who had to assure Ayushmann it was fine.”
Ayushmann confirms that he struggled. “It wasn’t easy. Bachchan sahab and I have to fight throughout the film, but he’s such a professional. Truly a source of inspiration.”
Interestingly, this is not the first time Bachchan is at loggerheads with his male co-star on-screen. He has fought it out with Shashi Kapoor in Deewaar and Do Aur Do Paanch, and Vinod Khanna in Parvarish and Amar Akbar Anthony on screen.
