Parvathy speaks her heart out!

Parvathy confesses that she performs organically, reacting to the script in a natural manner.

Parvathy, who has done 18 films down South including Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada cinema, is now prepping up for her Bollywood debut Qareeb Qareeb Singlle. The actress who completed her education from Kendriya Vidyalaya, does not have much trouble mouthing dialogues in Hindi. “Yes! Having studied in both the mediums, Hindi as well as English, I do not have much of a problem. In fact, I did not know my mother tongue — Malayalam, that I learnt it in 12 standard. I have a flair for learning languages. I may take a little time but can easily converse in the given language.”

Parvathy does not differentiate amongst the film industries. “For me, there is no difference between working in Bollywood or in South, since working in films is a pleasure and a blessing for me. Whenever we do a film it’s a teamwork that brings out a fantastic result. If we get to work with a great actor, obviously the outcome too is great. Working with Irrfan Khan, who strives to give varied dimensions to the character and the scenes, not only brought forth a positive partnership, but helped us portray our parts in an authentic manner,” she adds.

Parvathy confesses that she performs organically, reacting to the script in a natural manner. “There is no code or strategy which will differentiate one industry from another (Bollywood or South films). I love to act in films that are socially relevant. I am open to working in Marathi as well as Bhojpuri films. For that matter, I can work in any language with a good script.”

Some one not in favour of remakes, she says, “I remember I performed one of my characters from a Malayalam film in a Tamil film. But I was not too happy. I always love to do something original.”

When asked about her favourite Khan she says, “I really do not have any favourites, and that’s not being diplomatic. I feel each one of them have their own strengths and weaknesses. Now isko controversy maat bana dena.”
