Sidharth Malhotra optimistic about marriage

Sidharth Malhotra claims to be single, but he is no stranger to being linked up with his co-stars. Nevertheless, the actor is a staunch believer in marriage after seeing the success of his parents’ love marriage.

When asked about why he’s constantly reported to be dating someone new, the Marjaavaan actor explains: “I am a method actor so I fall in love with all the actors. I am a very friendly person and I am mostly seen in love stories, so some energy of that romance may be seen oozing into real life.”

As for the kind of woman he is looking for in real life, Sid says: “I don’t have any girl on my mind and neither have I dreamt about her. There should be a connection, no matter what background.  Connecting on a personal level is very important,” he opines, adding that the definition of a gentleman has changed.

“Before, a gentleman was a man who emotes less and protects women. But nowadays, he’s sensitive, emotional, and chivalrous as well. Women’s safety is also a part of gentlemanly qualities, but gentlemen also need to consider gender equality,” he shares.

Speaking about his parents, the Jabariya Jodi actor says they did not think that he would ever take up acting. “My parents nor I thought I would become an actor. I was 21 when I came here and got a film, and they were surprised and apprehensive. They took time to adjust, but now they have realised that I am an actor. They honestly tell me that they didn’t like me in certain movies or scenes,” he says.

When it comes to marriage, Sidharth says that his parents aren’t too worried about him. “They have had a successful love marriage, and so they feel secure enough that I can also find a match for myself. I would prefer love marriage, I want to get married when I fall in love,” he concludes with a smile.
