A journalist's journey for Kriti
There is something about Kriti Sanon and the profession of journalism, or so it seems, for the actress seems to be the choice for many filmmakers to play a Journalist. Now, the Raabta actress has stepped in the shoes of male actor Rajkummar Rao for the Hindi remake of the 2014-Tamil film Jigarthanda.
The film revolves around a journalist and a don, each aspiring to be a filmmaker and a movie star, respectively, and the comedy that ensues thereafter.
Recounting the number of times a role of a journalist came fetching Kriti, a source tells us, “Kriti has been one in the 2019-Laxman Utekar film Luka Chhupi in which she was cast opposite Kartik Aaryan. That film was about a live-in relationship. Kriti was also to play a journalist in a Rahul Dholakia’s film though she had opted out of it for date reasons.”
One might recall how upset Kriti had remarked on the media hullabaloo inside the aircraft carrying Kangana Ranaut when she came to Mumbai amidst the demolition of her property. Maybe in a parallel world, she’d even have been a courageous journalist, calling out unfairness when she saw it.
Incidentally her Luka Chhupi co-star Kartik will also be seen playing a journalist in his next film with Ram Madhvani.
