Language not a barrier for me: Katrina Kaif
Katrina Kaif does not feel like an outsider here in Bollywood. In fact, she loves to adapt to her environment and also loves to practice what she has learned.“I never had the feeling of being an outsider,” the actress says. “It was never there even when I entered the Hindi film industry. I feel like this is our industry, and I am part of it. We are a part of our own industry. I belong here, so honestly I never had that feeling of being an outsider at all.”
Speaking about her aspirations for her career, Katrina says that she would love to do a sport biopic. “The script has to be good with not much drama,” she says. And apart from sports biopics I am open to do any story that I have not done before. If that is the story of some personality which will present me in a different light.”
The actress is also open to foraying into other film industries. “I have no objections as such to do a Hollywood film. Tomorrow if I get a film, it’ll be known because of social media. Also getting to correspond with anyone is so accessible. English is a language in which I would like to act. I acted in Telugu as well. Language is no barrier for me,” she claims.
When asked about the rumours that that she will be reprising the role of PT Usha, Katrina clarified that she has not signed on any dotted lines yet. “I don’t want to discuss anything until I have signed it. I will do it if the story is right for me,” she adds.
The actress also shut down rumours that will be a part of Saate Pe Saata remake. “You guys will have to ask director Farah Khan. I really do not know anything about any such development,” she says. And as for her upcoming film Sooryavanshi, the actress is overjoyed to be reunited with her old friend Akshay Kumar. “It’s lovely being back with Akshay. It’s been a few years now that we have acted together.”
She is also full of praise for director Rohit Shetty. The actress says the director has command over his audience, and he knows exactly what they want. “That film is good film, it’s good fun.”
Not many know that Katrina is not very adamant in changing through her learning experiences, which she considers to be her biggest strength, “My biggest strength is that I can learn, adapt, and still not get stuck in any belief that ‘I am right, this is how I am’. And I am never going to change, this is the way I am,” she asserts.“I think I have the capacity to learn and change. It’s simply to accept the thought that there is a better way of doing something that allows you to learn,” Katrina concludes.
