Ranveer gets wax statue at Paris' Grevin museum, only 3rd star after SRK-Ash

The actor was not present for the grand unveiling of his wax statue at the Grevin musuem in Paris.

Mumbai: The 'stardom' of Bollywood celebrities is often determined by critical acclaim and box-office success, but there is another important factor that perhaps defines if they have become big enough stars.

Getting wax statues at Madame Tussauds museums have often been considered as a benchmark of being ‘stars’. Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Madhuri Dixit, Kareena Kapoor Khan were among the first to get a wax statue at the popular museum, with Shreya Ghoshal and Anil Kapoor being the latest to get one.

All these celebrities have a substantial amount of experience in showbiz and that’s the reason none of the stars from the younger generation have yet been approached for it.

However, Ranveer Singh has become perhaps the first star from the younger generation to get his own wax statue, though not at the Madame Tussauds, but at the Grevin wax mususem in Paris on the occasion of his birthday on Thursday.

With his last film ‘Befikre’ being shot mostly in Paris, the actor's popularity in the region could be one of the reasons behind the move.

Ranveer has become only the third Bollywood star after Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to make his presence felt at the museum.

The statue was welcomed by Indian dancers, grooving to the typical Bollywood style steps.

Ranveer, however, was in Mumbai, snapped celebrating his birthday with fans and could not make it for the unveiling.

Fans would definitely be hoping to witness the customary picture of Ranveer posing with his wax statue soon.
