Salman and Ranbir to clash at the box office
While the industry is yet to see who emerges victorious in the upcoming titanic clash between Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees and Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil, another clash is waiting in the wings to take off.
Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai, Ali Abbas Zafar’s sequel to Kabir Khan’s 2012 blockbuster Ekk Tha Tiger is set to release on December 22 later this year. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted yesterday, “#TigerZindaHai to release on 22 Dec 2017 [Fri]... Christmas on 25 Dec [Mon]... SOLID 4-day weekend on the cards! (sic)”
The Christmas weekend is all set to see another high profile movie releasing on the same date — Rajkumar Hirani’s highly anticipated Sanjay Dutt biopic, which stars Ranbir Kapoor.
Given the strained link between Ranbir and Salman, thanks to their Katrina connection, this is already being touted as a clash to look out for. It remains to be seen how the movie collision will pan out, and if either parties involved will be willing to reschedule.
