Sudhir Mishra not making a biopic on Renu Saluja
Renu Saluja who died at the age of 48, was not only one of the finest editors of Indian cinema, but was also a kindred spirit who was married to director Sudhir Mishra at the time of her death.
On hearing that Sudhir will be making a film on Renu’s life, it was of great interest to the fans of art house cinema.
But it turns out that the news is not entirely true. “No, I am not making a bio-pic on Renu’s life. That would be too much information and experience to accommodate in one film,” says Sudhir.
And the director is quick to mention that whatever he is doing is much more manageable. “I am taking one very important incident that happened in Renu’s life towards the end. I am making a film based on one incident. While focusing on that incident I hope to bring out various aspects of her life,” says the director
While Aditi Rao Hydari will play Renu, Sudhir has not decided on who will play him.
“But it won’t be me, I won’t act and direct. And it won’t be a star, because he will be consciously acting the part of my character. It will be an actor but someone who can play me without the baggage of stardom,” reveals Sudhir.
The shooting for Renu Saluja film will begin in Novembers.
