Kangana Ranaut learns Tamil and Bharatanatyam
The shoot for another biopic on late Jayalalithaa, former CM of Tamil Nadu, is slated to start in the month of October 2019 in the city of Mysore. To be directed by A.L. Vijay, this one, named Thalaivi in Tamil and Jaya in Hindi, is produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Sahilesh R. Singh, and will have Kangana Ranaut reprising the late Chief Minister’s role.
Talking about the development, the producer states, “At the moment, Kangana is busy learning Tamil and the Bharatanatyam dance form. She is keenly focused on her portrayal of the former CM, late J. Jayalalithaa, and doesn’t wish to leave any stone unturned to play the part to the best of her ability.” According to the producer, the aspect of Bharatanatyam, which revolves around the phase when the former CM had her own dance troupe, will have a special mention in the film.
As Jayalalithaa is an icon to the audiences of the south, the producer claims that the makers have been doing their homework to the best of their abilities. “Yes, we have left no stone unturned to write the script with immense care. We have duly taken the rights from her brother’s son, her nephew Deepak Jayaraman, to ensure there is no issue about the rights. etc.,” adds Vishnu.
What’s more, Vishnu says that the makers of the film are confident that the film will be a box office hit. “And that’s more so because Kangana is reprising her role and is working very hard to do a convincing job of it,” he says.
How about the former CM’s closeness and association with V.K. Sasikala, we wonder. Would the controversies involving the latter be shown as well?
“That is all taken care of,” responds Vishnu simply. He confirms the initial shooting schedule will start in Mysore and then progress to Tamil Nadu.
