No Phool Aur Kaante remake as yet
A while back there was a buzz going around that Ajay Devgn’s brother Anil Devgn who had earlier directed films like Raju Chacha with Kajol and Blackmail with Priyanka Chopra, was to helm the remake of Ajay Devgn’s debut film Phool Aur Kaante.
But the news doing the rounds for the past one week is that Anil was to direct a remake of the film with Ajay just doing a cameo in it.
“They have been discussing the remake for a while now. They even discussed a possibility of a star kid launch in the film,” informs a trade source.
However, when we spoke to sources in the Devgn camp, they denied that anything was on the anvil. “There were some talks regarding the remake, but it was more of an idea being tossed around. There is nothing concrete about the film being remade. We discuss many projects, but that does not mean that every project is being made,” says a source.
Ajay’s first film Phool Aur Kaante released in 1991 and was directed by Kuku Kohli and co-starred Madhoo. The film was also a musical hit and had Rohit Shetty as one of the assistant directors.
