Anushka Sharma is not a part of Shree Narayan Singh's Jasmine

It was earlier reported that Anushka will play the strong female lead in Shree Narayan Singh's 'Jasmine'.

Mumbai: Toilet: Ek Prem Katha director Shree Narayan Singh has earned a lot of appreciation for his debut film, that stars Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles. With a strong social message of proper sanitation facilities in rural areas, the film gained immense love and respect from the audience. Now reportedly, Shree's Mukambika Pictures and Prernaa Arora’s Kriarj Entertainment is teaming up for the women-centric film titled, 'Jasmine - story of a leased womb'.

Buzz was, this strong women-centric film will star Anushka Sharma in the lead role. But the makers have clarified that Anushka is not a part of the project.

Prerna Arora from KriArj Entertainment said, '' Anushka Sharma is one of the finest actors of our time. Every producer wants her to helm their film. We had earlier expressed that it would be great to have her in Jasmine but we would like to clarify that we had never approached Anushka to do the film. The rumours are completely untrue and we vehemently refute this information.''

Shree had refused any such developments and said casting will happen only after a director comes on board. "I haven’t even met Anushka or spoken to her. I have just announced my film. First thing I need to do is to lock a director for the project. The casting will be decided later," says Singh.

Anushka is currently busy shooting for Aanand L Rai’s next which stars Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. Anushka’s next home production ‘Pari’ starring herself in the lead is set to release in 2018.

Shree Narayan Singh is busy with 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu', his next film with Shahid Kapoor in the lead. The film is slated to release on August 31, 2018.
