Arjun Kapoor hits back at naysayers
Arjun Kapoor has been consistently lambasted on Twitter for being a producer’s son and a bad actor. He, however, refuses to get ruffled. “If I react to such things, people are encouraged to hit out. My reaction would mean visibility for people who post nasty stuff. The comments as you say might be cheap and crude. But such cheap and crude people exist all over the world. You can’t react to all of them. It would make living difficult,” he says.
So how does he manage to stay unaffected? “I can keep my cool because I know they are trying to use my name to gain publicity. And they don’t realise by talking about me and my performance they’re building an audience for my next release. And let’s face it, you need to be successful for people to pull you down,” he adds nonchalantly.
As for being called a bad actor, Arjun shrugs, “Sure, some people don’t like my performances, and I will win them over with my hard work. I know where I stand and hence can best judge my capability. Just because some people have an opinion, it doesn’t sanction it.”
As for being trolled for nepotism, Arjun says, “I didn’t get a break because I am somebody’s son. I don’t think anyone would invest their time and money in an actor just because they are related to the film fraternity. I did Tevar with my father because I wanted to do it. More importantly, the market tells you your value as an actor. I would want to be an asset for anybody I work with,” he concludes.
