On public demand! 'Singham 3 will be made,' says Rohit Shetty
The kind of response I’ve received for ‘Singham’ and ‘Singham Returns’ motivates me to do a ‘Singham 3.’
Hyderabad: In 2011, when Rohit Shetty's Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Singham’ released, audience went bonkers over the film. The film was a huge hit, and received applauds from every corner.
Then on Independence Day in 2014, Rohit Shetty bought the sequel of the film titled ‘Singham Returns,’ which roared thunderously at the Box Office and also won the critical acclaims.
The hook song of the film ‘Aata maajhi satakli’ had become the nation’s favourite anthem.
During ‘Singham Returns,’ in an interview to PTI, filmmaker Rohit Shetty had said, “Depending on how this sequel turns out, we will think about turning the brand into a franchise with a good subject.”
Cut to 2017, and at a media interaction, Rohit confirmed that he is taking the brand ‘Singham’ ahead.
“We’re making 'Singham 3.' It depends on the audience whether the brand should be turned into a franchise. The kind of response I’ve received for ‘Singham’ and ‘Singham Returns’ motivates me to do a ‘Singham 3.’ Once I get a good subject, will definitely make it happen,” assured the director, who is also hosting a high-octane stunt- based reality show.
Knowing the bond Rohit shares with Ajay Devgn, it goes without saying that he might return with Ajay as his Singham.
