Kunal returns to Goa
One may recall that Kunal Kemmu played the hilarious Hardik, who loses his job and goes to Goa to have a good time in Raj and DK’s Go Goa Gone. And now that a sequel to the comedy thriller has been announced, the actor fondly looks back at his time working on the 2013 film.
“I remember that Raj, DK and I were sitting in a room where Go Goa Gone was being conceptualized, and we were penning the script together. We went from pillar to post for someone to buy it. We had no money at all, and there were no takers,” he recalls, adding that Saif Ali Khan’s involvement changed the film’s fate.
“No sooner did we reach his office and hand over this script, he read two pages, smiled, and said, ‘Hmm achchi hai (It’s good)’. After that, Saif was on it. We were so happy that this film will be made, and we are feeling proud of the fact that in spite of having no buyers for the first part, Go Goa Gone 2 has been announced,” Kunal reveals.
Speaking further about Saif, who also happens to be his brother-in-law, the actor says that he has unique taste in films. “He is a very interesting person. Let me tell you guys, the entire family will surprise you. He is a cool guy. Within 90 minutes, he agreed to produce this film,” he smiles.
Meanwhile, Kunal has reunited with his Kalyug director Mohit Suri for his latest film Malang, which sees them working together after 15 years. “I am happy to be working with Mohit Suri again after 15 years. Whenever I would meet him, I would ask him when we would work together again,” he reminisces in conclusion.
